In 2022, the Department of Immigration temporarily relaxed the work limitation for a WHV holder. This meant they were given an exemption from the need to work for any one employer for 6 months.
2024 Update
The Department of Immigration made the decision to continue this exemption while consultation on the Working Holiday program settings and reform process is underway and revamped.
This exemption applies to anyone in Australia who holds:
- any kind of WHM visa, regardless of when they arrive, or holds
- a Bridging visa with condition 8547 imposed.
