The international border is set to reopen on February 21 next.
Obligatory Requirements:
- Migrants and travellers need to be fully vaccinated and/or have had two doses of a COVID vaccine to be allowed in and;
- Any unvaccinated travellers will have to apply for, and be granted, an exemption before they travel to Australia
Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews said unvaccinated travellers would still need to apply for a travel exemption to come to Australia and need to undergo hotel quarantine if they were granted permission to enter the country.
The Australian Prime Minister also made it clear, with a reference to the recent Novak Djokovic saga, that even if people had the correct visa to enter Australia, if they were not fully vaccinated — or have an exemption — they would not be allowed to enter.
