Aged Care

Aged Care Registered Nurses (RN’s)

New Regulations: Providers must have at least one RN on-site and on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at each residential facility they operate, so the demand for Registered Nurses is now at an ‘all-time-high’ in addition to the numerous positions that are also in critical demand such as, Enrolled Nurses, Personal Care Workers, Chefs and Cooks, Recreational Officers and Home workers.

The Aged Care Work industry has also just been awarded a 15% increase in wages for:

  • registered nurses
  • enrolled nurses
  • assistants in nursing
  • personal care workers and home care workers
  • head chefs and cooks
  • recreational activities officers (lifestyle workers).

Massage Therapist – Remedial Massage Therapist

A Massage Therapist treats the musculoskeletal system and provides options to improve clients’ health and wellbeing. Types of massage techniques used can be such as deep tissue, trigger point, manual lymph drainage, myofascial, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF advanced massage technique used to help reset muscle holding patterns) or a range of specialised treatments for people with chronic health conditions.

Massage Therapists will also have a vast knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as effective communication skills to deal with clients, health professionals and the health system.

Beauty Therapist

Use creative and artistic skills and the full range of face and body treatments including facials, makeup, body massage, waxing, lash and brow treatments, aromatherapy, spray tan, and skills in retail and sales operations.

Additionally they may be familiar with reflexology, Indian head massage and hot stone massage, intense pulsed light and laser hair reduction treatments.

Hairdresser

A Hairdresser has developed skills in cutting hair using clippers and scissors. Is familiar with how to shampoo, condition and rinse hair, and how to dry and style hair using brushes, combs, rollers and other equipment.

If you are passionate about haircare, styling and hair colour transformation, and you are a hairdresser, you could pave the way to an exciting and rewarding career.
