DOCTORS, NURSES AND OTHER MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

The Australian government prioritises certain medical professions.

One major hospital group alone Down Under has 500 vacancies.

The average wage for a Nurse in Australia is $79,094. Compared to the United Kingdom average of $62,050 (converted from £33,384), not only is the average Nurse salary over $17,000 more, there are other reasons to migrate Down Under such as;

1. Multiple Australian cities have been voted every year (independently by the Economist) as the top ‘Liveable Cities’ in the world. Melbourne was voted the winner in 2017, which was its 7th year in a row to do so.

2. The Australian economy is solid, and the Australian dollar has the reputation of being one of the strongest and safest currencies in the world.

3. All permanent residents can eventually qualify to become an Australian citizen, and Australia recognises dual citizenship.

4. Australia is also an attractive migration destination because of its temperate weather. Due to the huge size of the country, Australia has several different climate zones. There is a more tropical-influenced climate in the north, but cool mild summers in the south. CLICK HERE for specific city details.

5. The Australian education system provides free or subsidised primary, secondary and tertiary education.

6. The health system in Australia (Medicare) provides access to a wide range of health care services, free medical care in public hospitals and lower costs for prescription medicines, subsidised or free treatment by health professionals such as specialists, doctors, optometrists, and in specific circumstances other allied health practitioners such as dentists.

WA’s COVID-FREE STATUS ATTRACTS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Students will be allowed into WA when the state reopens early next year. To do so they will only need to comply with the same requirements as all other international travellers such as;

• Return a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to their departure
• Undertake a COVID-19 test within 48 hours of entry into WA

IMPORTANT
• Double vaccinated international students will NOT be required to quarantine.

The WA Education Minister Ms Ellery is confident many international students will come to WA in time for semester 1 of 2022. The minister has stated, “I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t return, as semester 2 is looking great, and semester 1 is a bonus.”

She also stated, “If you were a mum or dad sitting in Singapore or anywhere else, thinking about where you might want to send your 18 or 19-year-old to get the best education, “Western Australia is one of the safest places in the world to do that.”

WESTERN AUSTRALIA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FALLS AGAIN TO AN UNBELIEVABLE 3.9%

WA’s economy has recovered from the initial impact of COVID-19 with strong support from the mining industry.

The ABS Labour Force report for October showed WA’s unemployment rate fell from 4.1 per cent to 3.9 per cent , as full-time employment grew. This is the lowest unemployment rate in the nation and lowest in WA since July 2012.

WA was the only State in Australia to experience a fall in the unemployment rate, which is now at least 1.2 percentage points lower than any other State.

For example, one online employment agency over 26,000 vacancies currently advertised in WA alone.

Comments attributed to WA Premier Mark McGowan

“Western Australia’s world-leading response to the COVID-19 pandemic has laid the foundation for strong economic growth.

“Today’s data not only highlights WA success but also the economic impacts that COVID-19 has had in NSW and Victoria – with both States’ unemployment rates much higher.

“With investment in WA growing and more and more projects coming online, our unemployment rate has dipped to its lowest level since 2012.

WA is now regarded as the safest and strongest State in the nation

Western Australia Border – Open Date ‘Locked In’

The WA premier has said a date will be set to reopen its internal borders once the vaccination rate reaches 80%.

For overseas and international arrivals they must;

• Return a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to departure
• Undertake a COVID-19 test within 48 hours of entry

Also;

• Double vaccinated international travellers will not be required to quarantine
• International travellers who are not double vaccinated will be required to complete 14 days quarantine in a ‘designated facility’

WA’s Labour Market

• Western Australia’s labour market continues to strengthen. Total employment reached new record highs in September as the unemployment rate fell to 4.1% (which was the lowest rate since January 2013).

• The outlook for Western Australia’s labour market is positive. Internet vacancies have been steady at over 26,000 a month over the past 7 months and increased economic activity has also created strong competition for labour and skills.

Our advice is to start the process of migrating Down Under now, as demand for places is expected to be considerable.

Skilled Regional Work Visa

A visa in this category is for ‘Points-Tested’ applicants who are nominated by a State or Territory government or those who are sponsored by an eligible family member to live and work in Regional Australia .

‘Regional’ Australia is now regarded as every part of Australia (except the cities of Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane). However, regional areas of NSW & Victoria are eligible in this
category such as the ‘Gold Coast’ in ‘Queensland’ or ‘Byron Bay’ in NSW.

Also note that the entire States of South & Western Australia (including the cities of Adelaide and Perth) are also regarded as Regional Australia for the purposes of this visa.

There are over 500 more additional occupations available to regional applicants to work in regional Australia than exist in the ‘Independent Skilled Migration’ category and visa
applications in this category get priority processing.

With this visa you can;

  • stay in Australia for 5 years
  • apply for permanent residence, if eligible, after 3 years.
  • live, work and study in any part of a designated region of Australia and
  • travel to and from Australia as many times as you want

The current pass-mark for Points-tested migrants in this category is 65, however, significant incentives to apply for Skilled Migration to Regional Australia exist (conditions apply), and now that Perth in WA and the Gold Coast in QLD is classed as regional, applying in this category has significant incentives such as;

  • The award of 10 additional points to your spouse or de facto partner if they are assessed as skilled.
  • The award of 5 additional points if they are not.
  • The award of 10 additional points to applicants without a spouse or de facto partner (i.e. they are single).
  • The award of 10 additional points to applicants with an Australian citizen or permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen spouse or de facto partner;
  • The award of 10 additional points for certain Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics qualifications;
  • The award of 15 additional points to an applicant nominated by a State or Territory government agency or sponsored by a family member residing in regional Australia (for an applicant that will live and work in regional Australia)

The English language threshold has also been lowered which will greatly benefit non-English speaking immigrants.

To fully understand the factors that will affect your eligibility and to determine if you meet the basic requirements for a Regional Visa please complete a General Enquiry today. So that we can assess your immigration eligibility.
